Henry Ford Allegiance Health Staff Campaign:  September 1-September 30

Support Henry Ford Allegiance Health

Every year our staff giving campaign provides a meaningful way for us to support our coworkers and our community. Your gift to the Henry Ford Allegiance Employee Giving Campaign will help ensure the highest quality medical care and critical assistance is available for those who need it most. One hundred percent of the donations made by our staff will stay here at Henry Ford Allegiance Health.

Our 2017 campaign runs from September 1 – 30; PTO deduction will be with your Oct. 13th paycheck and payroll deduction will begin with your first paycheck in January.

Helping us plan and carry out our staff campaign are close to 70 staff Ambassadors. These wonderful, fun and dependable people have been working hard behind the scenes to make this a smooth transition. Our Ambassadors urge you to help the Henry Ford Allegiance Health staff meet and exceed our local goal of $215,000 which is part of Henry Ford’s system-wide goal of $3,000,000.

Please take a look at the list and get to know the Ambassador for your area.

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes! Your donation is tax deductible to the extent provided by law.

One hundred percent of your donation will stay here in the Jackson Community and benefit our Health System - Henry Ford Allegiance Health. Your donation to United Way of Jackson will stay at the United Way offices here in our community, Jackson!

We strongly encourage you to make your donation using the ease and convenience of HenryFordAllegiance.com/EG. Donations to Employee Giving are encouraged three ways.

  1. You can give a one-time donation or have a specific dollar amount deducted each pay period.
  2. You can also designate your vacation/PTO hours (4-hour minimum) toward the Campaign.
  3. You can write a check for a one-time donation.  Please make the check payable to the Henry Ford Allegiance Health Foundation.

The vacation/PTO donation will occur on your paycheck dated October 13, 2016.

No, you are not allowed to donate vacation/PTO over more than one pay period. While IRS regulations allow us to offer vacation/PTO donation for this purpose, it limits our ability to offer it to only one pay period per year.

Yes. Your vacation/PTO donation creates taxable income for the dollar value equal to your hourly rate of pay multiplied by the number of hours you are donating. This is the amount that will be contributed to the Foundation and that you may be able to deduct on your federal tax return.Your paycheck for October 13, 2016 will be lower because additional taxes will be withheld on the amount of the vacation/PTO donation. Please plan accordingly. As an example, assume you donate 10 hours of vacation/PTO and make $20 per hour. The calculated donation is $200. The amount is reported as income on your paycheck and is included in the calculation of taxes withheld from your paycheck.Taxes on this amount would be in the range of $70. So, the net amount you receive for this pay period would be $70 less than usual.

Payroll deductions will begin on the first pay period in January and continue until the end of the 2017 calendar year.  You will be contributing for 26 pay periods total.

The 2017 Employee Giving Campaign will run from September 1-September 30. During that time, staff will have the opportunity to make pledges toward specific giving areas. Then in Calendar Year 2017, the funds will be collected, January through December. Once all of the donations are in, they will be applied to the appropriate projects for which they were designated.
