Accreditations

Allegiance Health is accredited by the Joint Commission, which is the nation’s predominant standards-setting and accrediting body in healthcare. Joint Commission accreditation and certification is recognized nationwide as a symbol of quality and reflects an organization’s commitment to meeting certain performance standards.

Cancer Care

The American College of Surgeons’ Commission on Cancer (CoC) has designated Allegiance Health as an accredited cancer center. This distinction is granted only to those facilities that have voluntarily committed to provide the best in cancer diagnosis and treatment and are able to comply with established CoC standards.

Allegiance Health is Blue Distinction Center for Cardiac Care®, as designated by Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Michigan. This signifies that Allegiance Health has demonstrated its commitment to quality care, resulting in better overall outcomes for cardiac patients. To earn this recognition, hospitals must meet strict clinical criteria, developed with recommendations from expert physicians and medical organizations, including the American College of Cardiology and the Society of Thoracic Surgeons. Blue Distinction Centers for Cardiac Care provide a full range of cardiac care services, including inpatient cardiac care, cardiac rehabilitation, cardiac catheterization and open-heart surgery.

Orthopaedics & Spine

Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan (BCBSM) designated Allegiance Health as a Blue Distinction Center for Specialty Care® in the areas of spine surgery and hip and knee replacement. According to BCBSM, these designations are based on criteria that “emphasize important aspects of quality and safety” and “will help patients and referring physicians identify hospitals that offer comprehensive, integrated orthopaedic care.”

Stroke Center

Allegiance Health has also achieved Advanced Certification from the Joint Commission as a Primary Stroke Center, which signifies that Allegiance Health achieves the best possible outcomes for stroke patients.
