Kathy Schmaltz

Kathleen Schmaltz is a Freelance Broadcaster in the Lansing/Jackson area. She has served on the Allegiance Health Foundation Board since its inception in October of 2009.
Kathy served as News Anchor and writer for the 6 and 11 o'clock news weeknights at WILX-TV 10 (NBC affiliate) in Lansing, Michigan for 14 years and as Associate New Director of Community Relations. Kathy also worked in Radio News for three years in Lansing at WITL, WKAR, and was News, Sports and Public Affairs Director of the Michigan State Radio Network at Michigan State University.
Kathy served as Campaign Chair for United Way in 2005 and 2006 and currently is Chair for the Grand Slam for Kids, a fundraiser offering children and their mentors a baseball clinic at Comerica Park and a Detroit Tigers game. Kathy is also a Board member at the Michigan Theatre and a Trustee at the Purple Rose Theatre. She is past President and Current Board Member of the Michigan Dyslexia Institute.
Kathy is also on the committee for the Wendy’s Charity Classic for Adoption LPGA event and participates in Big Brothers/Big Sisters as well as Lumen Christi High School fundraisers. Kathy also served on the Michigan Education Trust State Board and the Michigan Hospital Finance State Board, appointed by Governor John Engler. Kathy was also a candidate for State Representative and a Jackson Distinguished Citizen of the year.
