Vice Chief of Staff

Board certified in Emergency Medicine, Dr. Smith is the Medical Director of Allegiance Emergency Services and Express Care Services, as well as Vice Chief of Staff. He earned his MD at Wayne State University and completed a residency at the Detroit Medical Center/Wayne State University. Dr. Smith is chair of the Allegiance Credentialing Committee and vice chair of the Systems Integration Committee. He also serves on the Jackson Health Network Board of Directors and Clinical Performance Committee and the Health Improvement Organization Committee.

Born and raised in Jackson, Dr. Smith is proud to lead the Emergency Team at his hometown hospital. “This is a very hard-working team,” he said. “We really care about our patients, and we are all invested in this community.”
