Ray King, MD, Named Chief Medical Officer at Allegiance Health

Jackson, MI—Allegiance Health has announced that Ray King, MD, has accepted the position of Chief Medical Officer/Senior Vice President, Medical Affairs, effective May 1, 2007. Dr. King replaces John Lucas, MD.
A longtime resident of Jackson, Dr. King has been a member of the Allegiance Medical Staff since 1984. He is a family practitioner at the Townsend Medical Center, where he will continue to practice on a part-time basis.
Dr. King has held numerous leadership positions at Allegiance Health including Department of Family Practice Chair, Emergency Department Search Committee Chair, Associate Medical Director of Physicians Health Plan South Michigan (PHPSM), and co-founder of the PHPSM Best Practices Committee. He also served as a member of Allegiance Health’s Clinical Notes Committee and is currently a member of the Physician Advisory Counsel and the Foundation for a Healthy Community Oversight Committee.
Dr. King earned his doctor of medicine degree from the University of Michigan Medical School and served his residency in Family Practice at Midland Hospital Center, Midland, Michigan.
