Respecting Diversity
Diversity is among our core values at Allegiance Health. This means we respect all patients, staff, physicians, volunteers and visitors regardless of their age, race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, educational background, religious and cultural beliefs or economic status.
We realize that our differences are what makes each of us unique, and that by embracing those differences we broaden our experience and enrich our lives.
By respecting all others with whom we come into contact, we help ensure that we are fulfilling the mission of Allegiance Health and serving our community to the very best of our ability.
Allegiance Health does not discriminate against anyone based on their age, race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, educational background, religious and cultural beliefs or economic status. This applies to our patient care, visitation policies, hiring practices and business interactions.
In support of our diversity policy, Allegiance Health has hosted a series of Community Round Table Meetings. These meetings aim to gain insight into the minority perspective on health care and include representatives from Jackson Community College, Spring Arbor University, Jackson Public Schools, the Jackson Prenatal Task Force, the Center for Family Health, and the Community Action Agency. We also encourage diversity among the members of our Community Partners Programs, which seeks community input on Allegiance Health patient care, policies and services.
