Allegiance Health Announces Partnership with Michigan Heart of Jackson

August 3, 2011

Jackson, Mich. — In a partnership designed to further support exceptional heart care services in the Jackson region, Allegiance Health today announced a joint agreement with Michigan Heart located at 309 Page Avenue in Jackson. Michigan Heart is a division of Saint Joseph Mercy Health System (SJMHS).

The new partnership will allow Allegiance to guide the diagnostic services at the Michigan Heart facility, while retaining the staff and physicians who have provided care to the community for many years.

“We are very pleased to build upon our relationship with Michigan Heart,” said Karen Chaprnka, chief operating officer at Allegiance Health. “In preparing for this arrangement, our conversations have been centered on providing the best heart care options to our patients and the community—and this will certainly allow us to continue to do so.”

Existing patients of Michigan Heart in Jackson will receive a letter noting the new agreement along with details on how billing services will be processed.

“Michigan Heart and Allegiance Health have worked closely together for more than 20 years and our team has always strived to coordinate with the culture, quality and care demonstrated by the Allegiance team,” said Keith Burmeister, vice president, clinical service lines at SJMHS. “This partnership is a natural progression to formalize an already strong and patient-focused affiliation.”
