Gastroenterologists Join Allegiance Physician Team

Jackson, Mich. — Allegiance Health is pleased to welcome two new physicians, Ivan Cubas, MD, and Vishal Gupta, MD, PhD, to Allegiance Gastroenterology.
Cubas earned his degree in internal medicine at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit. He received his gastroenterology degree from Providence Hospital and Medical Centers/ Wayne State University, Southfield, Michigan, and completed fellowships in advanced endoscopy and hepatology at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Harvard Medical School. Dr. Cubas will welcome patients on Monday, Oct. 5.
Gupta trained as a medical resident in the department of internal medicine at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons, New York City. He also performed fellowships at Columbia University in Gastroenterology and Harvard Medical School in Gerontology and earned a PhD in colon cancer at the University of South Carolina. Dr. Gupta will begin seeing patients on Tuesday, September 8.
Gastroenterology is a branch of medicine concerned with the structure, functions, diseases and pathology of the stomach and intestines.
