Allegiance Receives National Honors in Recognition of Quality and Excellence

Jackson, Mich. — Allegiance Health has received four prestigious national awards for exceptional performance in health care. The honors were presented by Thomson Reuters and HealthGrades, two organizations widely respected for identifying hospitals across the country that have achieved excellence in clinical quality, patient safety and financial stability.

Thomson Reuters 100 Top Hospitals for National Benchmarks 2009
This is the fourth time Allegiance Health has received the 100 Top Hospitals designation for being a “best hospital, overall” based on national performance measures. It also distinguishes Allegiance Health as 1 of the top 20 large community hospitals in the country.
Thomson Reuters 100 Top Hospitals: Everest Award for National Benchmarks 2009
Allegiance Health is 1 of only 23 hospitals in the United States to win this new award, which honors hospitals that are achieving the highest standards for quality care and improving long-term performance at the fastest rate. This prestigious award recognizes Allegiance Health’s ability to sustain excellent performance based on rigorous national standards.
HealthGrades Distinguished Hospital Award for Clinical Excellence 2010
Presented to the top five percent of the nation’s hospitals for quality outcomes, this honor recognizes Allegiance Health’s success in decreasing in-hospital complications and mortality. Only 269 hospitals in the country have received this award, and Allegiance Health is the only hospital in south-central Michigan to achieve this designation.
HealthGrades Patient Safety Excellence Award 2010
For the second year in a row, Allegiance Health has joined the top five percent of hospitals in the nation for patient safety. Allegiance is 1 of only 4 hospitals in the state of Michigan and 79 hospitals in the entire country to receive both the Clinical Excellence and Patient Safety Awards.
