Minimally Invasive Robotic Surgery
Allegiance Health embraces medical technology advancements whenever they prove to be the most appropriate choice for patients. In the spring of 2007, Allegiance began performing prostate surgery using the da Vinci Surgical System.
da Vinci robotic surgeries are minimally invasive procedures that let the surgeon view 3D, high-definition images during surgery. By manipulating robotic arms, our surgeons attain a greater range of motion than possible by a human. Other benefits include greater precision, increased access, improved dexterity and enhanced visualization.
The System cannot be programmed nor can it make decisions on its own, and it requires every maneuver be performed with direct input from your surgeon.
