Father’s Day Photo Exhibit at Allegiance
June 8, 2010
Jackson, Mich. — Allegiance Health
and the Real MEN’s Project (Men Embracing Non-Violence) announce the unveiling of the Father’s Day 2010 photo
exhibit on Thursday, June 17. The community is welcome to view the photos of fathers and their children from
5:30 to 6:30 p.m. in the hospital lobby. Refreshments will be
served.
The purpose of the Father’s Day
photo exhibit is to convey that it is every father’s responsibility to model
non-violence and to speak out against domestic and sexual violence.
Formed in 2003, the Real MEN’s
Project is a public awareness initiative which asserts that men have a critical
role to play in ending domestic and sexual violence by modeling non-violence
and respect for women. All men featured in the 2010 Father’s Day exhibit have
made the following pledge:
I will not commit, condone or be
silent about domestic abuse.
I will teach my children and model
healthy, nonviolent relationships.
I will use my words and my actions
to convey to all boys and men in my life:
Real men don’t hit. Real men don’t
rape.
