Clinical Trials Program
As part of the University of Michigan Cancer Center Network, Allegiance Health has access to University-based clinical trials, allowing you to be treated with the latest therapies while remaining close to home and family.
Working to uncover the best treatment options, Allegiance Health participates in many national clinical trials. Our cancer care professionals participate in dozens of clinical trials at any one time, each utilizing promising new therapies. Clinical trials play an important role in helping the medical community better understand cancer, and they grant patients access to the future of cancer treatment.
Participation in clinical trials is always voluntary. People who do participate often appreciate playing a more active role in their own health care and helping others by contributing to medical research. All clinical trials have guidelines about who can participate and utilize protocols with defined criteria to identify appropriate participants and maintain safety standards.
Allegiance Health's oncologists have provided chemotherapy, immunotherapy and hormone therapy for more than 30 years. They are also responsible for the management of most of the clinical trials conducted at Allegiance Health, offering the latest treatments in our pleasant community setting.
