Sleep Health
Sleep disorders can profoundly impact your life and nearly one-third of all Americans encounter a sleep-related problem sometime during their lives. While most sleep problems are not life threatening, they can cause morning headaches, high blood pressure, memory loss, depression and excessive sleepiness during the day.
Fortunately, sleep disorders can be treated effectively. The Allegiance Sleep Health Center is fully accredited and committed to providing excellent, thorough evaluation and treatment of individuals with sleep disorders. As Jackson’s leader in the field, the Center provides community education about the important role sleep plays in our health and safety.
The Sleep Health Center can help with any sleep-related symptom or concern, covering the full spectrum of 84 sleep-related diagnoses.
Our recently expanded facility offers:
- 10 private testing bedrooms with full bathrooms
- Full-size beds in all rooms
- Flat-screen color televisions with VCR/DVD capabilities
- Handicapped accessibility
Accreditation
The Sleep Health Center has been accredited by the American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM) since 1992. Sleep disorders centers and laboratories for sleep related breathing disorders seek accreditation from the American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM) to demonstrate that they meet the highest standards of quality patient care.
AASM accreditation is the gold standard by which the medical community and the public can evaluate sleep medicine services. The Standards for Accreditation ensure that sleep medicine providers display and maintain proficiency in areas such as testing procedures and policies, patient safety and follow-up, and physician and staff training.
The first sleep disorders center was accredited in 1977. Now, more than 1,000 AASM-accredited sleep disorders centers and laboratories for sleep related breathing disorders are providing trusted medical assistance in communities across the country.
