Annual Lights of Love Event Announced

November 24, 2008

Jackson, Mich. — Celebrating the holiday season, the Allegiance Health Auxiliary and the Jackson County Medical Society Alliance will sponsor Lights of Love, the lighting of select pine trees in front of Allegiance Health to honor loved ones, both living and deceased. The Tree Lighting Ceremony will be held on Wednesday, December 17 at 6 p.m. in the hospital lobby.

Proceeds from this year’s Lights of Love celebration will support the Allegiance Hospice Home, which provides safe, compassionate care for individuals with life-limiting illnesses. Hospice Home's care model includes round-the-clock support by highly-qualified medical and social service professionals, spiritual coordinators, therapists, counselors and volunteers.

Donors may participate in Lights of Love in two ways. For a tax-deductible contribution of $10-$99, donors may have a "Shining Light" on a tree honoring one person, living or deceased. The name of the honoree will be inscribed on a Lights of Love scroll to be displayed in the hospital lobby on Wednesday, December 17.

For a $100 contribution, donors may honor an individual or couple as "Bright Lights." These names will also be printed on the Lights of Love Scroll and in the program for the Tree Lighting Ceremony. Both contribution levels will include a card of recognition sent to honorees or surviving family members.
