Treatments
Sclerotherapy
Sclerotherapy is a popular method of eliminating spider veins –
unsightly blue or red bursts or splotches on the legs. This in-office procedure
closes the affected vein with the injection of a special solution called a
sclerosing agent. The number of treatments necessary will depend on the severity
of the spider veins.
Closure® Procedure
When valves in the veins become weak,
blood that should be moving toward the heart flows backward and pools, which
causes veins to enlarge and bulge, or become varicosed. This is called venous
reflux disease, and it can cause pain or itching in the legs.
Allegiance Vascular
Health offers an outpatient procedure called Closure®, which is an alternative
to painful vein stripping. It treats venous reflux by re-routing blood flow
through healthy veins. A physician applies radiofrequency energy to help shrink
and close the vein. Closure provides a good cosmetic outcome with minimal to
no scarring, bruising or swelling.
