The flu vaccine is recommended for anyone 6 months of age or older. Luckily, only one shot is needed this year to protect against H1N1 and two other influenza viruses.
The vaccine is especially important for pregnant women, children ages 2 – 5, people 50 or older, people with certain chronic medical conditions, and those in regular contact with someone at high risk for complications from flu. You can obtain a flu vaccine from your family doctor or at most large retail pharmacies.
