Allegiance Health
Allegiance Health is accredited by the Joint Commission, which
is the nation’s predominant standards-setting and accrediting body in
healthcare. Joint Commission accreditation and certification is recognized
nationwide as a symbol of quality and reflects an organization’s commitment to
meeting certain performance standards.
Cancer Care
The American College of Surgeons’ Commission on Cancer (CoC) has designated Allegiance Health as an accredited cancer center. This distinction is granted only to those facilities that have voluntarily committed to provide the best in cancer diagnosis and treatment and are able to comply with established CoC standards.
Heart and Vascular Center
Allegiance Health is Blue Distinction Center for
Cardiac Care®, as designated by Blue Cross and Blue Shield of
Michigan. This signifies that Allegiance Health has demonstrated its commitment
to quality care, resulting in better overall outcomes for cardiac patients. To
earn this recognition, hospitals must meet strict clinical criteria, developed
with recommendations from expert physicians and medical organizations,
including the American College of Cardiology and the Society of Thoracic
Surgeons. Blue Distinction Centers for Cardiac Care provide a full range of
cardiac care services, including inpatient cardiac care, cardiac
rehabilitation, cardiac catheterization and open-heart surgery.

Orthopaedics and Spine
Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan (BCBSM)
designated Allegiance Health as a Blue Distinction Center for Specialty Care® in the areas of spine surgery and hip and knee replacement. According to BCBSM, these
designations are based on criteria that “emphasize important aspects of quality
and safety” and “will help patients and referring physicians identify hospitals
that offer comprehensive, integrated orthopaedic care.”
Stroke Center
Allegiance Health has also achieved Advanced Certification from the Joint Commission as a Primary Stroke Center, which signifies that Allegiance Health achieves the best possible outcomes for stroke patients.
Sleep Health Center
The Allegiance Health Sleep Health Center is accredited by the American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM). The AASM Standards for Accreditation ensure that sleep medicine providers display and maintain proficiency in areas such as testing procedures and policies, patient safety and follow-up, and physician and staff training.
Vascular Center
The Allegiance Health Vascular Center is accredited by the Intersocietal Commission for the Accreditation of Vascular Laboratories (ICAVL). The ICAVL is a non-profit organization established with the support of 11 medical societies, including physicians, technologists and sonographers that represent many medical specialties including cardiology, neurology, radiology and others.
