Advance Directives

An advance directive allows you to share with your care giver what kind of care you would like to have, or not like to have, if you become unable to make medical decisions.

In most cases, you can discuss your course of medical treatment with your physician and family. Only when you are unable to communicate for yourself is your advance directive activated. Discussing your wishes with family members in advance gives you and them peace of mind should you become unable to communicate for yourself.
