Cardiac & Pulmonary Rehabilitation Recertified

Dec. 18, 2003

Jackson, Mich. — The American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation (AACVPR) has awarded Program Certification to Allegiance Health’s Cardiac Rehabilitation and Pulmonary Rehabilitation Programs. This certification recognizes programs that have been rigorously reviewed by a national board and meet essential requirements for standards of care.

Foote’s Cardiac Rehabilitation Program has served hundreds of patients since 1986. The program is designed to limit the physiological and psychological effects of cardiac illness and aids in reducing the risk of sudden death or relapse while enhancing the patient’s quality of life.

The Pulmonary Rehabilitation Program conducts more than 5,000 patient exercise sessions each year and involves a variety of services by specialists which are directed to persons and their families faced with pulmonary disease.

"This recognition is particularly significant, noting that many similar programs across the United States are closing their doors,” said Nancy Ragatz, RN, BA, and Manager of Cardiac & Pulmonary Rehabilitation. “We’re very appreciative that our leadership has recognized the significance of our program and the dramatic, positive impact it is having upon a great number of patients in our community.”
