Over the years, our success in creating an environment for safe, clinically sound, patient-centered care has earned many accolades from across our industry.
While these awards recognize our commitment to providing exceptional patient care, they also challenge us toward continuous improvement in care.
2009
- Practice Greenhealth presented Allegiance with the 2009 Environmental Leadership Circle Award for exceptional environmental stewardship.
- Allegiance received the 2009 Premier Award for Quality (AFQ) on behalf of the Premier healthcare alliance. The award recognized Allegiance for outstanding patient care and setting the standard for clinical excellence and operational efficiency. Allegiance was one of only 23 of the 3.796 eligible hospitals nationwide to be recognized by AFQ, placing our health system among the Top 1 Percent.
- Allegiance Health was the only Hospital in the Lansing/Jackson/Ann Arbor Region to receive HealthGrades Patient Safety Excellence Award™. This award ranks Allegiance Health among the Top 5% of all hospitals in the nation for Patient Safety in 2009.
- Allegiance Health has earned the ICU Design runner up award from the Society of Critical Care Medicine (SCCM) for the design of its new Cardiac Universal Bed (CUB) Unit. The Honorable Mention Citation was announced at the 38th annual SCCM Congress.
- Allegiance Home Care was selected by the Michigan Peer Review Organization (MPRO) as Michigan's only home care agency to present to the Reducing Re-hospitalization Initiative Steering Committee.
- Allegiance Health Marketing has earned three national awards in recognition of recent re-branding work:
The new Allegiance logo and letterhead design received a “Gold Award” in the 26th Annual Healthcare Advertising Award competition--the largest of its kind in the country. Equivalent to “First Place,” Gold Awards represented the top 7% of the 3,600 entries submitted. Allegiance received its award in the category of “Hospitals with 300-599 beds.” Healthcare Advertising Award recipients are selected by a panel of national judges, based on the entries’ creativity, quality, message effectiveness, consumer appeal, graphic design and overall impact.
In the same competition, Allegiance Health received a Merit Award for its 2008 Report to the Community—a booklet introducing the new Allegiance brand and highlighting community services and programs. The Report was part of the brand launch last summer.
The Allegiance Health logo and letterhead design was also chosen by a national panel of judges to win an Aster “Gold Award”—sponsored by Marketing Healthcare Today magazine. Allegiance received its award in the “Hospitals with 300-499 beds” category.
- HealthGrades Five-Star Rating for quality. Allegiance earned the designation in Clinical Achievements for Joint Replacement and Total Knee Replacement. These ratings indicate statistically and significantly better patient outcomes.
2008
- Winner of the Premier Award for Quality by the Premier Healthcare Alliance. Allegiance Health is one of 27 winners out of more than 3,800 eligible hospitals nationwide.
- Named among the nation’s 100 Top Hospitals® by Thomson Reuters, a leading provider of information and solutions to improve the cost and quality of healthcare. One of only two large-sized facilities in Michigan to receive this distinction, Allegiance Health was recognized for achieving excellence in the following areas: Clinical Outcomes, Patient Safety, Financial Performance and Efficiency. Allegiance Health has won this award three times. Allegiance Health was also named a Thomson Reuters 100 Top Hospitals® Performance Improvement Leader.

Primary Stroke Center Certification from the Joint Commission, signifying that Allegiance Health provides services with the critical elements to achieve long-term success in improving outcomes and assures that its quality is effectively managed to meet the specialized needs of stroke patients.
- Michigan Award of Excellence from the Michigan Peer Review Organization (MPRO) was presented for the second year in a row to Allegiance Home Care Services for its work to improve the delivery and safety of care for Medicare recipients.
- Lighthouse Award from the Michigan Quality Council for continued efforts toward quality improvement.
- 2008 Most Wired Innovator Award from Hospitals & Health Networks for the successful implementation of our automated discharge call system.
- Morehead Associates Staff Engagement Survey STAR award for notable and sustained improvement over time.

- Jackson Citizen Patriot "Corporate Citizen of the Year" Award
- Named to the Environmental Leadership Circle by Hospitals for a Healthy Environment. This permanent recognition was granted to only 19 hospitals nationwide.
- Featured at "What's Right in Healthcare," a national conference on quality improvement
- VHA Leadership Award for Clinical Excellence
