Our ASHP accredited PGY-1 Pharmacy Practice Residency is a 1-year commitment, broken down into 11 rotations. It's purpose is to prepare pharmacist clinicians to work in a community focused hospital pharmacy.
The Allegiance Health pharmacy department functions with the help of several large robotic systems, while pharmacists direct their focus to our vast clinical activities and dosing services. Our team consists of over 30 pharmacists, four interns and 75+ technicians. As our clinical services expand, we continue to focus on excellent patient care while working alongside physicians and nurses utilizing a floor-based rounding model.
Allegiance Health works actively with local educational programs such as nursing, pharmacy technician, and respiratory therapy to provide students the exposure necessary to develop essential clinical skills. The pharmacy department is an experiential site for pharmacy students from the University of Michigan, Ferris State University, and Creighton University.
