  • Blue Distinction Designation in Orthopaedics - Allegiance Health is pleased to receive Total Value Designation as a Blue Distinction Center for Hip and Knee Replacement and for Spine Surgery from Blue Cross Blue Shield and Blue Care Network of Michigan.
  • Mobile Health Coach in Holiday Parade - In lieu of a traditional float, Allegiance Health will be featuring its Mobile Health Coach in Jackson’s downtown holiday parade this Friday, November 16.
  • Allegiance Earns Medal for Excellence in Organ Donation - Donor hospitals from across Michigan, including Allegiance Health, were recognized nationally earlier this month for outstanding accomplishments in organ donation.
  • Women’s Health Center Hosts Open House Oct. 17 - An open house will take place Wednesday, October 17 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at 3305 Spring Arbor Road, Suite 500. This suite is in the same building as its former location, but the new space allows for easier access and more convenient parking.
  • Primary Care Practices Earn Designation from BCBS of Michigan - Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan has designated Allegiance Health’s primary care practices as patient-centered medical home (PCMH) practices. The designation period runs from July 1, 2012 through June 30, 2013.
  • Unprecedented National Effort to Increase Breastfeeding Rates - Allegiance Health is pleased to announce that our health system has been selected to participate in Best Fed Beginnings, a first-of-its-kind national effort to significantly improve breastfeeding rates in states where rates are currently the lowest.
  • Allegiance Health Earns Energy Star Designation - Over the past three years Allegiance Health Plant Engineering has implemented numerous energy reduction measures and projects to help the health system achieve resource and operational effectiveness. These projects have reduced not only natural gas, electricity and water consumption, they have qualified Allegiance for an Energy Star certification.
  • Allegiance Health Earns “A” for Patient Safety - Allegiance Health received a top rating of “A” on the Hospital Safety Score from The Leapfrog Group, an independent national nonprofit organization that monitors hospital safety and quality.
  • VHA Honors Allegiance With National Award for Serving Community Health Needs - VHA, Inc., a national network of 1,350 not-for-profit health care organizations, selected Allegiance Health as one of two organizations in the country to receive its 2012 VHA Leadership Award for Community Benefit Excellence.
  • Full Scale Emergency Preparedness Exercise - In its ongoing efforts to ensure emergency response preparedness for the Jackson area, Allegiance Health, in cooperation with Jackson County Emergency Management, Jackson County Health Department and Spring Arbor University, will conduct a full scale exercise on Tuesday, May 22.
  • Allegiance to Bring Teaching Capability, 140 Jobs, $21 Million to Jackson - Allegiance Health has begun the multi-year process of developing a Graduate Medical Education (GME) Program. As a teaching hospital, Allegiance will educate recent medical school graduates, commonly known as “residents,” to become specialists in a particular field of medicine.
  • Allegiance Pursuing Trauma Verification to Treat Severely Injured - Although Allegiance has been recognized by independent organizations as one of the best hospitals in Michigan for emergency care, being officially verified as a trauma center assures the community, health care providers and regulatory bodies that the health system has met the rigorous requirements necessary to care for critically injured patients across the entire continuum of care.
  • Pediatrics Unit Receives Generous Donations - American Legion 2nd District Commander Jerry Andrus presented Allegiance Director of Women’s and Services Jenny Wren with a donation of $2,800 from the organization’s “Tabs for Tots” program.
  • Women’s Health Center Continues to Offer Free Breast Health Screens - For the third consecutive year, the Allegiance Women’s Health Center is the recipient of a grant from the Mid-Michigan Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure®. To date, 300 eligible Jackson area women have received free breast health screens, thanks to this grant.
  • Lifeline Customers: Be Aware of Suspicious Activity - Allegiance Health has been made aware of two recent incidents, one in Adrian and the other in Jackson (Summit Township), involving men who are posing as Philips Lifeline representatives in order to gain access to customer’s homes.
  • Connections for Cardiovascular Health Announces Grant to Foundation - The Health Improvement Organization / Community Hearts Project is designed to reduce cardiovascular risk factors of low-income, underinsured adults through integrating a health management component into the Project Access system of donated care for uninsured workers in Jackson County.
