Allegiance Health Foundation was pleased to accept two generous donations on behalf of the hospital’s Pediatric Unit.

American Legion 2nd District Commander Jerry Andrus presented Allegiance Director of Women’s and Services Jenny Wren with a donation of $2,800 from the organization’s “Tabs for Tots” program. The donation has been used toward the purchase of an enclosed canopy bed which promotes pediatric patient safety.

OSB Community Bank (founding office located in Onsted, Michigan) donated $1,000 toward the purchase of toys for the Pediatric Unit’s play room. These toys will also be used to distract and reduce anxiety for children who must receive an IV or injection during the course of their treatment.

Allegiance Nurse Manager of Pediatrics Paige Girard, RN, said, “We truly appreciate the generosity of these two community-minded donors. We are able to use their gifts to further enhance the care environment and safety of our littlest patients.”

The best chance of surviving a heart attack is to act quickly. Do not wait for symptoms to go away. Call 9-1-1 immediately, and chew an aspirin while waiting for the ambulance to arrive.
