Gayle M Jacob Cancer Center Receives Tony Open Donation

“Both of our organizations are passionate about ensuring that top quality cancer care is available close to home."

The Gayle M. Jacob Cancer Center at Allegiance Health was the recipient of $31,000 in proceeds from the 37th annual Tony Open Golf Outing, which took place at the Country Club of Jackson.

Allegiance Health Foundation president Chad Noble was honored to accept the donation on behalf of the health system. “We deeply appreciate the generosity of the Tony Open,” Noble said. “Both of our organizations are passionate about ensuring that top quality cancer care is available close to home. Allegiance Health views this gift as an affirmation of our efforts, as well as an encouragement to do even more for our community.”

This year, with the support of the American Cancer Society, the Tony Open became its own Jackson-based 501(c)3 charity. This will allow the organization to have greater flexibility in its mission to support the promotion of cancer research.

There is no sure way to prevent breast cancer. But you may help lower your risk by maintaining a healthy body weight, limiting how much alcohol you drink and getting regular exercise.
