Thoracic surgeon Mohan Kulkarni, MD, has a special interest in the treatment of lung cancer and gastro esophageal reflux disease (GERD). After graduating from the University of Toronto Medical School, he completed his internship in internal medicine at North York General Hospital in Toronto.

He then completed a general surgery residency at the University of Toronto Hospitals, a thoracic surgery residency at Ottawa Civic Hospital, a cardiac surgery residency at Ottawa Heart Institute and a fellowship in general thoracic surgery at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Hamilton, Canada.

Dr. Kulkarni joined the Allegiance Health Medical staff in 1996. He is also on the teaching staff at the University of Michigan Medical School.

Regular exercise, such as walking, playing tennis, weight lifting, yoga or using a rowing machine can reduce the likelihood of bone fractures in people with osteoporosis.
