Allegiance Race to Health & Family Wellness Day 2013

Jackson, Mich. — Allegiance Health, in conjunction with the Health Improvement Organization, is pleased to announce the 2013 Allegiance Race to Health and Step by Step Family Wellness Day will be held on Saturday, September 7, 2013. This event is offered to encourage families to develop healthier lifestyles through exercise. Whatever your reasons for running/walking—to stay fit, compete or just enjoy the simple pleasure of motion—the key to improvement is right here in Jackson.
Event/Activity Schedule
Races
- 5 Mile Run (8:00 a.m. start)
- 5k Run (9:00 a.m. start)
- 5k Walk (9:05 a.m. start)
Family activities
- Free breakfast (7:00 - 10:00 a.m.)
- Green Market
- Step by Step Family Wellness Day (8:30 - 10:30 a.m.) Kids & family fitness games.
- Inflatable obstacle course
- Kids Fun Run
- Rock climbing wall
- Chance for children to win one of two bicycles
Awards and Prizes
There is a $100 prize for the overall male and female winners of each event. $50 prizes will be awarded to male and female masters winners of each event.
The top three finishers, male and female, in each age division will also be recognized with medals. Awards will be based on the following age divisions: 14 & under, 15-17, 18-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-66, 67+
Registration and Cost
Standard registration
- One event: $15 ($20 after Sept. 1)
- Two events: $20 ($25 after Sept. 1)
Price includes a long-sleeve moisture-wicking event T-shirt. Additional T-shirts are available for $15.

Race-Day Registration
Race day registration will be held under the tent in front of Radiation Oncology - Tejada Center. For the 5 Mile Run, register from 7:00-7:50 a.m. For the 5k Run and 5k Walk, register from 8:00-8:50 a.m.
Race Packets
Race packets will be available under the tent in front of Radiation Oncology - Tejada Center:
- Friday, September 6 from 3-6 p.m.
- Saturday, September 7 (Race Day) from 7:00-8:50 a.m.
Parking Information
Parking for this event is available next to the Anderson Building (northeast corner of Allegiance Health campus) for participants, volunteers and spectators.
