Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI)

An MRI machine creates cross-sectional images of the body without the need for radiation. An MRI uses a magnetic field and radio waves and is an extremely effective way of evaluating a variety of medical conditions.

Latest MRI Equipment

Allegiance Health uses two of the newest MRI machines available. A GE 1.5T short closed scanner is used at the hospital. A Hitachi 1.2T open scanner is located at the Specialty Center, across from the hospital, and is preferred for patients larger than 300 pounds, those who are severely claustrophobic patients and for scans of upper extremities.
