Skilled Care

Skilled care services are provided through Allegiance Home Care by nursing professionals, licensed physical therapists, occupational therapists and speech therapists under the direction of a physician. These services include:

  • Medical care
  • Medication management
  • Rehabilitation
  • Education

A nurse or therapist will provide skilled care in your home several times per week. Skilled care is typically covered by medical insurance.

The skilled care team works with families and physicians to outline a comprehensive plan of treatment, individualized to a patient’s specific needs. We also offer a number of specialty programs, including:

  • Cardiac care
  • Diabetes education
  • Disease management
  • Geriatric care
  • IV therapy
  • Neurological rehabilitation
  • Oncology care
  • Orthopaedic rehabilitation
  • Ostomy and incontinence care
  • Pediatric care
  • Psychiatric nursing
  • Wound care

Regular exercise, such as walking, playing tennis, weight lifting, yoga or using a rowing machine can reduce the likelihood of bone fractures in people with osteoporosis.
