Patient Information

Eligibility

You and your family are eligible for hospice care as soon as a physician determines you have a life-limiting illness (a serious illness that may lead to death). Allegiance Hospice programs and services are available to Jackson County residents of all ages who have a life expectancy of six months or less resulting from any illness.

Payment Options

Hospice care is reimbursed by Medicare and Medicaid, most private insurance policies, preferred provider organizations (PPOs) and other types of funding. Allegiance Hospice will help you with insurance and billing matters. Because professional services and hospital services are billed differently, you will receive separate bills for services received through Allegiance Hospice and the hospital. Professional services include those provided by hospice physicians, psychologists, nurse practitioners, social workers and physician assistants.

If you have billing questions, please contact our Chronic Care Billing Department by phone, email or fax:

One of the most important things you can do to lower your risk of stroke is to keep your blood pressure in check with exercise, stress management and reducing your intake of salt and alcohol.
