Minimally Invasive Robotic Surgery

Allegiance Health embraces medical technology advancements whenever they prove to be the safe and effective choice for patients. In the spring of 2007, Allegiance began performing prostate surgery using the da Vinci Surgical System.

Da Vinci robotic technology is used in minimally invasive surgeries and provides a magnified 3-D view of the surgical site. The surgeon is able to control the robot’s movement with extreme precision. The robot is not programmed to work on its own, rather every movement is determined and controlled by the surgeon.
