Our thriving health system offers a constantly changing environment that provides countless opportunities for you to use your skills, or learn new ones. Allegiance volunteers participate in more than 60 areas of service and are an important fundraising source for capital equipment and renovation projects.
At Allegiance Health, volunteers operate the Lobby Gift Shop, one of the largest hospital-based gift shops in Michigan. Volunteers also help in these ways:
- Health fairs
- Assist in business offices
- Drive our courtesy vans
- Lead tour groups
- Schedule and host special events
- Teach children about good health, onsite and in classrooms.
Most volunteers are scheduled about four hours per week. Apply today to be a volunteer.
Volunteering for Hospice
Volunteers are part of the Hospice team that offers supportive medical, emotional, spiritual and volunteer services to patients and families who are facing difficulties at the end of life. Volunteers receive an orientation to the Hospice program during a comprehensive training course. Here, the prospective volunteer learns about the Hospice program and the volunteer's role as part of the Hospice Team. Learn more about becoming a Hospice volunteer.
Summer Youth Volunteer Program
This volunteer program is designed for high school students age 15 and up. The purpose of the program is to empower teens with leadership and communication skills and provide them with exposure to the hospital environment, while they contribute to the community.
