New Electronic Medical Record Coordinates Patient Care

This exciting advanced technology includes “MyChart” and provides patients with convenient access to their medical records and an elevated level of coordinated care.

To improve the way care is provided for patients and their families, Henry Ford Allegiance Heath has upgraded its electronic medical record system. This exciting advanced technology includes “MyChart” and provides patients with convenient access to their medical records and an elevated level of coordinated care.

“This implementation represents another important milestone in furthering our partnership with Henry Ford Health System. Henry Ford’s significant financial investment will propel our efforts toward improving our service to the community. The enhanced electronic medical record will allow all of Henry Ford Health System to be better connected and expand care to the patients and communities we serve. We look forward to providing an even higher level of coordinated care with each patient’s most recent health history, lab work, allergies and medications kept together in one place,” said Henry Ford Allegiance Health Chief Medical Officer Ray King, MD.

The new electronic medical record is impacting all of Henry Ford Allegiance Health and beyond. This implementation involved Henry Ford Allegiance Health’s acute care hospital and CareLink long-term acute care hospital, home care and hospice, and ambulatory clinics at over 40 sites of care, along with 4,300 physicians and staff across HFAH, as well as community partners, including Center for Family Health, Jackson County Health Department and Jackson College.

Henry Ford Allegiance Health President and CEO Georgia Fojtasek said, “We have taken another step toward transforming the care experience to further meet the needs of our patients and our community.”

Most importantly, the implementation of an improved electronic health record, with its many benefits, such as MyChart, allows for further coordination and expansion of care to the patients and communities we serve.

The MyChart online tool allows patients to conveniently and securely:

  • Renew prescriptions
  • Review account information and pay medical bills
  • Look up past and future appointments
  • Schedule new appointments
  • Review health history, medication lists and allergies
  • View most lab and radiology results within 24 hours
  • See after-visit summary and care instructions
  • Send questions or messages to a doctor’s office
  • Receive health news and information
